The Army Museum of WA was established in 1977. Originally located in 'Dilhorn' in Bulwer Street Perth, it moved to its current premises in the Artillery Barracks in Burt Street Fremantle in 1995.

WAGS welcomes The York Society, Incorporated, as an Associated Member. 

Up until 1968 the buildings in the main street of York, Avon Terrace, had remained virtually untouched since construction in the late 1800s and early 1900s. However, a new Department of Local Government order came into force requiring all verandah posts on shops and buildings be removed from traditional main street verandahs.

Another WA passenger arrivals index has been added to our Members Only Area (MOA). This index covers the period 1873 - 1899 and specifically for arrivals at the port of Albany. WA Passenger Arrivals - Albany 1873-1899 - There are 11,267 line entries in this index, i.e. passengers recorded covering 221 separate vessels.

At the urgent request of settlers desperate for help in all areas of Colonial expansion, the British Government acceded to their demand for convict labour. Filling the WA passenger arrivals gapBarque Charlotte Padbury

Western Australian Passenger Arrivals 1839-1890 Index  -  Now available to WAGS members in the MOA (Members Only Area). This database contains details of some 27,907 immigrants, including Convicts and their Guards, arriving in Western Australia from the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and other ports in Australia. 347 Vessels covering 645 voyages appear in the index. The index was compiled by volunteers of the Western Australian Genealogical Society (WAGS) from passenger arrival information held by the State Records Office and the Battye Library of Western Australian History, and includes information retrieved from various newspapers of the day.
