From the President - Feb 2011

The Christmas holidays are well and truly over and WAGS is right back into the swing of things again. The Library is very busy, Special Interest Group Meetings have started again and the first Genie Chatter for the year is on Monday 14 February.

WAGS will be having a display at Shake Your Family Tree Day that will be held at the National Archives 384Berwick St, Victoria Park on Friday 25th February. Please refer to the separate notice about this event.

e-Commerce membership module

Behind the scenes many members have been working on a variety of tasks. A major project is the e-commerce membership module that is expected to be on this website in March.

This new module will enable you to renew online and you will have your own profile page, where you can update your contact details and complete information about volunteering, etc

In preparation for this new module we are testing the accuracy of members' email addresses on our membership database and recently a test email was sent to all members - unfortunately quite a lot of emails bounced!   We are in the process of phoning those members and checking their email address.

In March all members will receive an email (or letter) advising of your user name and password for the website. A message will then be placed on the front page of the website when the new membership module is operational.

Keep watching this space for further developments!

Until next time, good luck with your research.
