A Place in History

Ada Bodart - Condemned to Death Movie poster for 1928 silent film Dawn- ex wikipedia

Ada Bodart was condemned to death for helping British soldiers escape from German occupied Belgium during the 1914-1918 War. Her sentence was later reduced to 15 years hard labour.

Nurse Edith Cavell was not so lucky and was executed for the same "crime".

Whilst Edith Cavell's death is being commemorated in Britain during October 2015, Ada Bodart (O.B.E.) has been virtually forgotten.

WAGS member Marcia Watson has done some recent research and provided us with a two part WAGS Blog article. Part one is available now and part two will be published next week. Click here or on the poster image at right to go to the WAGS Blog item
