As a member of FHWA you are entitled to attend our meetings. You will be very welcome, no matter your experience with technology. We have a few gurus who delight in helping everyone.
Our meetings are designed to cover items of interest to the group. Please book your place at our Monthly Meetings
The popular programs within Family History WA are:
• Family Tree Maker

• Roots Magic
At each meeting we try to keep members up
to date with the latest scams and spams, as
well as what is new in the genealogy field,
such as software updates and new sources of
information on the web and other sources.
If you would like an answer to a burning question on any topic of interest discussed at any of the Technology Special Interest Group Meetings, perhaps on an aspect of Computers and Genealogy, a Genealogy software program, or a particular website that we have visited, post your question on the FHWA Technology SIG Forum. One of our members will answer as soon as possible.
FHWA Members are already registered and just need to log in to post a message.
Members of the public are also welcome, but need to register before being able to post, read the Forum FAQ's to find out how.

OK, so what is a QR Code - it is used in a lot of different situations. A QR code can be scanned into a smart mobile phone, and you will be directed to the FHWA Website via the embedded URL. If your smartphone does not aready have a QR Code reader app (application), you will need to download one (mostly free). Have a read of this Wikipedia QR Code article.
Problem report
If you're having a problem with your computer or software and you'd like to have it discussed at the next Tech meeting, please use this simple form Technology Problem Report to log the problem. You can copy the form into your email program, fill it in and email it to us (see contacts) or just bring it along to the meeting.
Formed many years ago (in April 1984, when computers were new and mysterious to many of us), we have been meeting on a monthly basis since 1995. With a mailing list of about 150 FHWA members, and average meeting attendance of around 30, we are a great forum for members to discuss problems and solutions to do with computers and, more importantly, how to use their computers to get the most out of their genealogy research.
So if you use a computer for genealogy, the Technology Group is worth visiting. Bring along your queries and your successes - we maybe able to help each other.
