The CSO's inwards correspondence Letters from 1829 to June 1835 have been indexed by Graham Bown on behalf of the Western Australian Genealogical Society’s Special Interest Group, the Swan River Pioneers 1829-1838.

WAGS Journal - Vol. 03

Western Ancestor - Volume 3 Western Ancestor Volume 03 Number 01 - March 1985

The Western Ancestor is published quarterly in March, June, September and December of each year. Each Volume covers a three year period and consists of 12 editions. The first edition was issued in March 1979.

WAGS website hacked = email problems WAGS Website Hacked

Folks, just to let you know we have had some trouble with a messy hack of one of our sites.This has resulted in problems with our email system which is taking some time to resolve.

You might remember our friends at Inside Cover of The West Australian giving us at WAGS a bit of cheek last year, to which we responded with an article on the "Inside Coverup" editor having connections to the Skywalker family, but more directly to the Chewbacca Wookie family.

It appears that the erstwhile editor of Inside Cover Ben O'Shea, commonly referred to as Benbacca, really does have connections to Luke Skywalker via the Chewbacca Wookie family...

Ada Bodart - WA Connection

Ada Bodart - The WA Connection Dennis Joseph Doherty MLC

Ada Bodart was condemned to death for helping British soldiers escape from German occupied Belgium during the 1914-1918 War. Whilst Edith Cavell's death is being commemorated in Britain during October 2015, Ada Bodart (O.B.E.) has been virtually forgotten.

Ada had a little known connection to Ivanhoe Station in Western Australia and the MLC for Fremantle Denis Doherty.

Ada Bodart was condemned to death for helping British soldiers escape from German occupied Belgium during the 1914-1918 War. Her sentence was later reduced to 15 years hard labour.

Nurse Edith Cavell was not so lucky and was executed for the same "crime".

Together 100 Years Apart Exhibition

A Sense of Scale 11Bn Officers

11th Battalion A.I.F. on the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), in Giza Egypt

A joint WAGS and Curtin University exhibition is coming up at the John Curtin Gallery, Curtin University, Bentley Campus.

Opening on the 23rd April and running through to Late November 2015 this exhibition is presented in honour of all of those serving in the 11th Battalion.
