Message from WAGS President

Merry Christmas

Christmas is nearly upon us and this is a time to catch up with family and friends. Hopefully you might discover some interesting information about one of your ancestors or you may have some spare time to write about your research. Whatever you do, enjoy.

Even though the WAGS library has closed for the Christmas break there has been a huge amount of activity in the library in the last week. WAGS volunteers have been extending the size of the server room in unit 6, others have been doing a library stocktake and others sorting through a new collection of records that have been donated to WAGS (more about that later).

A big thank you goes to these volunteers and to everyone who has volunteered during the year.

I wish you all a very enjoyable and safe Christmas and hope that the New Year brings much success in your research.

The WAGS Library will reopen Monday 11th January 2016.

Message from WAGS President

As the WAGS Financial Year draws to a close it is a perfect opportunity for me to remind members about Membership Renewals and also about some of the exciting progress that we have achieved with our Website and On-line Membership System.

Please be aware that all new members now have their membership renewals due on the anniversary of their joining. For members who joined prior to 2011/12 their membership anniversary is April 1st. Hence for most members renewals are due at the beginning of April.

What is happening at WAGS?

It has been a busy time at WAGS. Our e-commerce membership module was launched on Friday 15th April. Within 24 hours 70 members had renewed on line! Fantastic! It is great to see new members joining online. Thanks to Chris Loudon and the team for all their work in getting this module up and running. Further details are at the Membership and eCommerce Update.
