Issue 22: February 2015

WAGS Web Site is a winner!

WAGS is number 71 in the Genealogy in Time's worldwide Top 100 Genealogy Websites.

This is a terrific achievement by WAGS considering that we
are up against the giants of the genealogy world of
websites, including Ancestry, FamilySearch, FindMyPast,
GeneaNet, Geni.com and a whole swag of other paysites.

Well done to all of those members who contribute to the
upkeep of WAGS website & well done Webmaster - the hard
work pays off.

Updating your profile on the WAGS Web Page

Some members have not been receiving Enews because WAGS has not been aware that they have changed their email address.

You can change the details online yourself, including changing your username or password, volunteering details etc., or if you move to a new physical address, change your email address or phone number.

First log in, then click the "Update Your Profile" sub menu item under the "My Profile" menu.

Click on to the various tabs to find the item you need to update; eg. your email address is in the "Public Profile" tab. Once you have made the changes, click on the "Update" button, and you are done. Don't forget to log out.

You can also send an email with the changes to WAGS Membership - make sure you mention your membership number in the email.

WAGS - Awards

Any member of the Society may nominate another member whom they feel is worthy of receiving an award in appreciation of their service to the Society.  Nominations must be submitted on an Awards Nomination form available from the WAGS Library, the WAGS website, the Secretary or the Convenor of the Awards Sub-committee.

It is important when submitting a nomination to provide as much information as
possible to support the nomination. A list of the award
categories can be found in the December issue of the
Western Ancestor (page 387) or on the WAGS website.
