Family History Open Day @ WAGS

Open to the public. Free. Tour the vast family history library and computer based resources. Speak to experienced family historians.

National Family History Month

Western Australian Genealogical Society (WAGS) and the State Library of WA

Events are suitable for people with experience and beginners in family history and will have plenty to tickle their interest.

The main events are:
Mini Family History Fair - on Wednesday 13 August at SLWA
3 Days of presentations - on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 19,20 and 21 August at SLWA.

Library Volunteers Needed

The Role of the team:
• main desk, phone, book sales and subscriptions.
• assist people locating books and journals
• assist in use of microfiche and computers.!

• learn genealogical research benefits of library resources.
• meet interesting people.
• choice in assisting the operation of our society weekly, fortnightly, monthly or casually in
an emergency.
• receive assistance in learning the function of the library.

Library Hours : !Monday  9.30am - 8.00pm
Wednesday to Friday  9.30am - 2.30pm
 Saturday 1.00pm - 5.00pm
Public Holidays! Library closed

Volunteer friendly shifts available, so please jump in and help, contact the the WAGS librarian 

11th Battalion Cheops Project gets great exposure

Congratulations to everyone involved with the excellent coverage in the wrap around cover of Saturday's (26 July 2014) edition of The West Australian and on Channel 7's news on Friday 25 July.  This is fantastic promotion of the Cheops project and WAGS.

Annual WAGS Raffle - fund raiser

It's that time again - the time to sell-sell-sell raffle tickets! Members and Affiliated Societies sold 1,746 books last year! Let's see if we can better that in 2014

If you have not recieved any raffle books in the mail by August 15 you can contact the Raffle Coordinator by EMAIL with you mailing address, membership number and the number of books you would like sent to you.

Tickets go on sale from 10 August 2014
