WA is a BIG State
Genealogy and Family History is alive and well in Country WA. Western Australia covers 2.529 Million km2 (976.8 sq mi). WA is the second largest country sub-division in the world. That is a lot of ground to cover for a volunteer organisation, but we do have some success in that space.
The Western Australian Genealogical Society (WAGS) has a diverse membership which includes about 8.5% of our members being resident in country WA.
WAGS Affiliated Societies are present in Albany, Australind, Busselton, Collie, Esperance, Geraldton, Mandurah and Rockingham and each has their own membership (see map below)
However WAGS has members right across this vaststate of ours, ranging from Broome in the North to Notrhcliffe in the South, and out to Kalgoorlie and Boulder in the East.
The map below shows where our country membership resides - not all towns are named on the map, but thery are represented by a dot on the map and are listed in the side table - click to zoom (1Mb).
