Beware the Ides of March Super Saturday - 14 March 2015

Super Saturday -14 March 2015 at WAGS - Super Activity - Arrive a day early, avoid the drama & gather strength for the "Ides" on Sunday 15th March. TWO WAGS SIG meetings on Saturday 14 March have a lot to offer.

The WAGS Computer Special Interest Group (CIG) starts at 11:00 and finishes at 13:00 =AGM + committee election and planning for 2015.

The WAGS Western Australian Special Interest Group (WASIG) starts at 14:00 and finishes at 16:00 = Bevan Carter on Eden Hill Camps.

The CIG meeting is the AGM + election of committee + a new convenor (we hope).

Current convenor Mike is stepping down after nearly 10 years at the helm and we are looking for a new convenor. Current committee members Alastair, Ian and Chris have agreed to continue in their roles but don't have the capacity to take on the convenors role. So there is an opportunity for a new convenor to come forward and make their presence felt in the Computer Group.

The WA SIG meeting features a talk by Bevan Carter on his new book "EDEN HILL CAMPS - Records of racism in Western Australia"

This book has a collection of documents dealing with the loss of freehold title by ten Aboriginal families in the 1950's at Eden Hill as well as neighbouring Success Hill and then looks at Acts of the Western Australian Legislation that were racist; the legislation applied one to one race of people, the original owners of the land before British colonisation.
