Swan River Colony Quarter Sessions Transcriptions

Crooks in the Round House!Swan River Colony Court House - Round House, Fremantle, Western Australia

WAGS member Graham Bown has recently completed transcriptions of the early Record Books, Indictments and Minute Books and has provided us with copies to be made available for members on the WAGS website.

We are indebted to Graham for his dedication in transcribing early Western Australian records, and for making them available to WAGS members. Looking for Convicts or Pioneers in WA, look here...

These four significant Western Australian historical document transcriptions comprise apx. 440 pages of court records and proceedings; cover some 227 individual defendants; numerous early settlers acting as witnesses or jury members; and give a great insight to the problems experienced by the Swan River Colony Pioneers.

There is 4 separate sets, compiled into eBooks, being: Criminal Court Record Books - Cons 3422; Indictment Files - Cons 3472; Minute Books - Cons 3577/1; and Minute Books - Cons 3577/2.

The eBooks are available to members to view online here: Swan River Colony Quarter Sessions Transcriptions (1830-1840)
