Veronia was born in Bunbury in 1924 as the daughter of Charles Roberts and Isobel May Harrison. She had an older sister Norma Beatrice Roberts born 1922. The family moved to Bassendean.
Veronica married Harold Bernard "Tiny" Lear in December 1940. Harold , a member of the 4th machine gun battalion was captured at Singapore in 1941 and died at Sandarkan in 1945.
Veronica later moved to the USA in March 1947 and was naturalised is USA citizen in California in 1957 (still named Veronica Mae Lear.
Her parents, Charles died 1970 and Isobel died 1991.
