Irish Scene is a free bi-monthly magazine covering everything from Perth to Dublin, targeting WA's Irish community and anyone else interested. You might have picked up a copy at WAGS even. Read the online version

Our Irish SIG as you know has been working on indexing the articles relating to Irish history and family history and so far over 500 articles from 65 issues between 2005 and 2015 have been indexed. Only 23 more issues to go, covering the early years from 1998-2004.

What an achievement!! Well done to Christine Lewis (who doesn't even have any Irish ancestors herself!), Maureen Mulligan and Peta Hayward.

We are now liaising with WAGS webmaster to arrange for the index form a searchable database sitting on the WAGS' website. People will then be able to obtain a copy of the article through the Irish SIG, most easily at a meeting.

Anyone who would like to help either in indexing the remainder or in helping manage requests for articles once it's all up and running - please contact Jenni at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Thanks Chris, Maureen and Peta!
