Hi everyone
I really enjoyed my first meeting of the ISEA SIG today. Besides being a visiting SIG Convenor (Irish), I have personal and family history connections with this region. I married into a Malay family in 1971 and migrated to Malaysia a few years later. My son, born then, now lives there again after studying and working in Australia. I am also researching the Alban family, many of whom were in the British Indian Army, living and dying in India over three generations. I started researching them because my great great aunt married a Bombay Regimentt officer. But then I got hooked on the fascinating lives of the members of this family, sometimes more interesting than my own. Haven set up a blog about the Alaban family in India and elsewhere.
Anyway, hope to return next year. Thanks for your warm welcome. Interesting speakers too.
